Our team is a wonderful blend of youth, knowledge, experience and enthusiasm.
Bush and Beyond is the original guiding company in Kahurangi National Park. We are the only company who ‘specialise’ in Kahurangi, and we are very passionate about it! We have been guiding walkers throughout the park since 1993.
Bush and Beyond has built a sound reputation as an ecologically based operation, with a concern for the Park’s natural values.
Our guides are local people who have wonderful knowledge of the flora and fauna, and extensive experience in Kahurangi. These champions often volunteer in their free time to further the conservation effort.
Maggie's love affair with the wild West Coast began in the early 90s while guiding in the Honeycomb Caves near Karamea. Thirty years later, her love affair with Kahurangi National Park stays strong.
Richard has incredible knowledge of the area and the treasures within Kahurangi Park. You can ask him anything.
Chris is cheeky and laughs a lot. He enjoys adventure activities and has over 40 years' experience in Kahurangi National Park. The park is his happy place..
Leigh loves the outdoors and comes from a background in commercial and competitive skydiving. I live in Karamea and the Heaphy is like my big backyard.
Rob is a local who knows the area really well and loves the outdoors and is frequently taking us back and forth from the wilderness.
Josiah is our youngest member who also frequently delivers fresh supplies. Josiah is the friendly person who answers your e-mails and phone calls
Jamie's energy and enthusiasm inspire us, she will always offer a helping hand to someone in need.
